Read this article.  Especially the second paragraph.  This is amazing.  These senators should be voted out of the senate NOW!!

This is outragous and has harmed the US immeserably!

A lot of the taking heads have been touting the move by McCain to select Sarah Palin as his running mate as a move to get women voters.  The one thing they are either missing or glossing over is that she was the BEST choice for McCain to rally the conservative base.  Palin is a true down to earth conservative who is from outside the beltway and actually bets me excited about the election now.

Before the pick, I was planning on voting for McCain, primarily against Obama and not necessarily for McCain.  This pick has turned my vote from a negative vote to a possative.  Now I am excited to vote for McCain/Palin!  I think this choice will move the conservative base of the Republican Party to action.  Whereas before there was a lot of complacency.

I am torn...Being a Christian, I am not supposed to worry as God will take care of me and my loved ones (as well as all believers), but living in todays happenings really makes me wonder.

I truly believe our country is completely messed up.  It is nothing like what was intended by the founding fathers (yep...fathers...pretty sexist huh??)  Congress was never meant to be a career, but what do we have, career politicians that have completely lost sight of reality.  The Court was never meant to make up laws and use foreign laws as references, but they sure due now.  The President...Hmmm...What can I say about that?  Not sure.

I struggle with mandated term limits because really, voting should be the term limits in my mind.  But these congressmen get so entrenched in the system, that it is nearly impossible to get them out.  And the money they raise and spend on campaigning is beyond r ... Read More »

Why is congress concerning themselves with steroids in baseball.  This has NOTHING to do with their constitutional duties and has nothing to do with the things that I think that most people consider important.  Things like...Hmm...maybe national security, or taxes?  They can't do anything useful so they have to look important and bring big names in to hearings to get attention.

So, I am obviously not very good at this because it has been months since my last post!  We'll see if I get better or not...

I just started a great book (so far anyway) called What's So Great About Christianity by Dinesh D'Souza.  So far, having only red the first couple of chapters, it seems like ... Read More »

One of the issues I see as a major problem with our government is the tenure.  Elected office was never meant to be a career.  You were supposed to be elected, do your service, go home and get back to work.  Too many politicians have made it their career and are getting rich off of it, or I should say getting rich off of us the tax payers.

If you are a career politition you just flat out cannot understand the real world.  You begin to believe that the government is the answer to everything.  These senators and representative who have been in the congress forever are absolutely out of touch.  Look at Robert Byrd.  He has been there for, I think, 50 years.  Does he have a clue what life is like in the private sector?  It's not possible.

I strugle with actual term limits, but I think that every elected official should at least self limit thier time in the public sector.  Thos ... Read More »

Don't get me wrong I love the church that I attend and the congregation is absolutely wonderful. I am excited about raising our daughter in the church, to learn and grow in Christ. But, it is interesting and often times very frustrating how political beliefs play a role.

I saw a bumper sticker stating "Christ is a Liberal" on a vehicle of a church member. My question is "How could you know?" My contention is that Christ is Christ and he is not liberal or conservative. Although, my beliefs really want to lead me to say "Christ is a Conservative!"

So why do I say that? Well, there are many reasons, but one of the prevailing issues that lead me in this direction is the saying "Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach him to fish and feed him for a lifetime." Every liberal program and idea that I am awar ... Read More »

About a year and a half ago, I thought about creating a blog.  I just ran across so things I typed out thinking I would post them.  I never did, but they are still relevant.  So thought I would put them here now....

Congressmen (and women if you are PC), are spineless and clueless to the real America.  They are more worried about their next election than doing the right thing.  If we had more people in elected positions that were worried about the real people out there, some more appropriate thing may get done or in some respects more less appropriate things would NOT get done.

The original intent of our founding fathers was not for life long "Public Servants" (or should I say power hungry ruler wanna be's).  People should NOT want to make a living off of the government.  That is NOT what the gover ... Read More »
