One of the issues I see as a major problem with our government is the tenure.  Elected office was never meant to be a career.  You were supposed to be elected, do your service, go home and get back to work.  Too many politicians have made it their career and are getting rich off of it, or I should say getting rich off of us the tax payers.

If you are a career politition you just flat out cannot understand the real world.  You begin to believe that the government is the answer to everything.  These senators and representative who have been in the congress forever are absolutely out of touch.  Look at Robert Byrd.  He has been there for, I think, 50 years.  Does he have a clue what life is like in the private sector?  It's not possible.

I strugle with actual term limits, but I think that every elected official should at least self limit thier time in the public sector.  Thos ... Read More »

Don't get me wrong I love the church that I attend and the congregation is absolutely wonderful. I am excited about raising our daughter in the church, to learn and grow in Christ. But, it is interesting and often times very frustrating how political beliefs play a role.

I saw a bumper sticker stating "Christ is a Liberal" on a vehicle of a church member. My question is "How could you know?" My contention is that Christ is Christ and he is not liberal or conservative. Although, my beliefs really want to lead me to say "Christ is a Conservative!"

So why do I say that? Well, there are many reasons, but one of the prevailing issues that lead me in this direction is the saying "Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach him to fish and feed him for a lifetime." Every liberal program and idea that I am awar ... Read More »

As mentioned earlier, I work for a small company that like to be on the leading edge.  We are very proud of our customer service, but our sales and marketing efforts have been admittedly, pretty weak and unorganized.  I have all these grandeous ideas with regards to what we need to do, but the issue is time an other important things getting in the way.

So, we have decided to commit to a prebuilt sales tool.  We are going to use Salesforce.com and I now get to integrate it with our existing systems that I have built.  This is somewhat of a love it/hate it concept to me.  I am ecstatic about increasing our sales efforts and having the tools in place t ... I work for a great company that is small but VERY advanced technologically.  I am sitting on hold with Dell right now so we can try and figure out a solution for an idea we have come up with here.

I have found TechSmith's Camtasia Studio, which will record a screen area along with voice narration and a web cam image.  We want to use this to record all of the various activities that we do in our systems.  This is not that hard...The hard part is playback.  Since we all use dual monitors here, we need to record and render a double wide video.  With that, we need to playback the video across to monitors...Thus spanning the video.

According to Dell, this is more of a software issue than a hardware one...So, off to Google and more research.  I guess I will try and contact TechSmit ... Read More »

About a year and a half ago, I thought about creating a blog.  I just ran across so things I typed out thinking I would post them.  I never did, but they are still relevant.  So thought I would put them here now....

Congressmen (and women if you are PC), are spineless and clueless to the real America.  They are more worried about their next election than doing the right thing.  If we had more people in elected positions that were worried about the real people out there, some more appropriate thing may get done or in some respects more less appropriate things would NOT get done.

The original intent of our founding fathers was not for life long "Public Servants" (or should I say power hungry ruler wanna be's).  People should NOT want to make a living off of the government.  That is NOT what the gover ... Read More »

Well...A lot.  But, don't know what I'll say here.  My biggest problem is time.  I would love to hit a topic and just go and go.  But I can't.  I only have a few minutes here and there to devote to this.  Not a biggie it really is way down on the priority list.

So, what are some of the things I would like to discuss:

  • Personal finance - I'm a proponent of debt free and do a pretty good job of living that way.  I think a lot of people would be way better off if they lived that way as well.
  • Business - I love business.  There are lots of things about business and I have a broad experience base.
  • Religion - I am a Christian and proud to say that Jesus Christ is my savior.  I believe in the bible and think it is the best place to learn about life.  I definately do not read it enough.  That has always been ... Read More »

Man...I have a lot happenning.  Trying to get time to do a lot of different things and just brought our first child home the other day.  She and mom are the focus for now.  Other things will have to wait!

I am thinking I will use this blog mostly for me, so that I can get things off my chest.  Ya never know though. So far I am not to successfull at logging in and typing anything up.  I have so many directions I could go on so many things!  Don't feel like starting now...It's past time for bed.

So...I just set this up to see how well the DotNetNuke blogging module works.  Am I going to use it much? Who knows?  Certainly not me!

I know little to nothing about blogging other that what they are and that I have read a few.  I one thing I don't know about that I need to look up is the "Trackback" stuff.  I guess when I get a chance, I'll figure it out.  That's what I normally do, just figure things out.

If I use this thing, who knows what I will have to say.  I am a business analyst/developer at my day job for a local manufacturing company, but also do web hosting and design on the side.  I am also VERY opinionnated, and can occassion get on my high horse about politics and social issues.  We'll see where this goes and if anyone really cares!
